Andoni Ortuzar urges Congressman John Garamendi to continue acting as the “Basque ambassador” in the United States
Andoni Ortuzar, chairman of the EAJ-PNV‘s central committee (EBB) has welcomed Congressman John Garamendi to his official residence at Sabin Etxea. The Democrat Representative for California has Basque forebears, and is one of the Basque community‘s closest allies in the US. Garamendi in one of over six million people of Basque origin throughout the world whose emotional ties to the Basque Country are compounded by an active commitment to the defence of their roots. John Garamendi‘s affirmation ‘I‘m Basque‘ is a highly illustrative example of the universal Basque in which being Basque is our way of being and forming part of the globalised world of the 21st century”.

Triumph of Urrutikoetxea
Mikel Urrutikoetxea is the new champion of the Cuatro y Medio Euskadi Championship (pelota). The young pelota player from Asegarce gave a virtuoso performance, scoring 12 consecutive points against Juan Martínez de Irujo, after being 10-20 behind on the scoreboard.

In Bilbao, an exhibition has opened on the pictorial work of an extraordinary Basque
Miguel Marina Barredo was born in Bilbao in 1915 and died in California in 1989. This is another of the thousands of extraordinary lives of extraordinary Basques that were forged by dint of courage and will in the heart of wartime disasters and that were able to become role models and examples of how to deal with adversity and grow as human beings even when it seems that everything is going wrong.

TEKNIA GROUP signs an agreement to manufacture RSV with Bosch
Teknia Group, a company specialising in the manufacture of components for the automotive industry and through its automotive and research and development business units (TEKNIA AUTOMOTIVE and TEKNIA TECHNOLOGIES), reported that members of the TEKNIA Rzeszów team signed an agreement to manufacture 70% of the reservoirs for Bosch in Europe for the period 2017-2020. The signing took place at the headquarters of Bosch in Zuffenhausen, located in the northern district of the German city of Stuttgart.

San Sebastian 2016: full programme
Eight years after the decision was taken for San Sebastian to opt to be the European Capital of Culture, four years after it was finally awarded, the official programme for Donostia-San Sebastian 2016 has finally been unveiled. The official presentation was made at an event that took place at Tabakalera and that also served as a "meeting with people who have been or will be part of the project".

The growth of the Basque economy reaches the 3% threshold
The Basque economy continues to improve on the path to recovery. After closing last year with a growth rate of close to 2%, over 2015 the GDP of the Basque Autonomous Community has continued to move forward so that now in the third quarter it has reached the round number of 3%, above the progress forecast by the Basque Government for the whole year. In this way, the Basque Country has crossed the threshold that, according to economic theory, leads to a scenario of consolidated employment creation.

Uxue Barkos says that 100 days of his Government "put an end to the executive blackout of the previous legislature"
One hundred days after taking office as president of the Government of Navarre, Uxue Barkos, accompanied by the two Vice-Presidents, presented the measures that the Executive has already set in motion. Actions "to serve the general interests of citizens" that attempt to "put an end to the executive blackout of the previous legislature". This is how the President described the inactivity into which the UPN plunged the Government in recent years which clashed with the extensive list of measures that have been launched in the last three months in Navarre. Specifically 214, 126 that have already been implemented and 88 that will come into force shortly, most of them included in the implementing agreement signed by Geroa Bai, EH Bildu, Podemos and Izquierda-Ezkerra and which have had a special impact, given the urgency of the situation, on the social needs of the most deprived, such as the 28 million earmarked to expand the income for social inclusion.
