Iberdrola awards Gamesa and Areva an order valued at 700 million euros in wind power
Iberdrola is to build its fourth offshore wind farm in Saint-Brieuc Bay, off the Brittany coast in France. This renewable energy project will have an output of 500 MW. The joint venture between Adwen, with a 50% share, and Gamesa and its French partner Areva will supply the 62 wind turbines that will make up the renewable energy complex, located 20 kilometres out to sea.
Adwen’s partners have won this order through a tender for turbines with 8 MW unitary power, the largest on the market. Sources in the sector have calculated that the contract is worth more than 700 million euros.
