Confebask expects the Basque economy to grow by 1.9% in 2015, driven by industry, and to create 17,000 jobs

The Basque Employers‘ Confederation Confebask expects the Basque economy to grow by 1.9% in 2015, driven mainly by industry, where 2.5% growth is forecast. This increase in GDP will result in net job creation to the tune of 17,000 jobs, 7,000 more than those envisaged for this year. This will bring unemployment down to 13.5%, one point lower than in 2014. However, Confebask Chairman Miguel Angel Lujua admits that the quality of the jobs created will not be as high as in the years before the crisis.
