Crisis in the government of Nafarroa

A further resignation from the government of Nafarroa (Navarre) has deepened the crisis in Barcina’s cabinet, following the departure of three socialist party members. Now, the second deputy first minister responsible for the Economy and Treasury in the Government of Navarre, the regionalist Álvaro Miranda, has announced his decision to step down, which he believes may help to reduce the tension between the Union of the People of Navarre (UPN) and the regional socialist party (PSN) in the wake of the collapse of the coalition government.

Following this resignation, the first minister of Navarre, Yolanda Barcina, will have to conduct a major cabinet reshuffle.

Following the break with the PSN and Miranda’s departure, she will have to replace her two deputy first ministers responsible for the First Minister’s Office, Justice and Interior, and the Economy and Treasury, as well as the ministers for Development and Housing and Social Policy, Sport and Youth.
