The Basque National Party does not understand why ETA regularly needs to restate its permanent ceasefire and the end of its armed operations. A permanent ceasefire is precisely that, a permanent ceasefire, and needs no further clarification.

The Basque National Party trusts that ETA will soon issue another communiqué declaring its final disbanding. Meanwhile, the Basque National Party will continue working to consolidate a lasting peace in the Basque Country, as it has done up until now, without the need to account for its work to anyone except party members and, therefore, much less so to ETA.
