The Uruguay Congress honours the Basques
During May, the Uruguay House of Representatives held an extraordinary session to honour the “Euskal Erria” Basque Fellowship to mark the centenary of its foundation.

During the programme of events organised to mark the centenary, the Euskal Erria Basque Centre hosted the presentation and launch, by the Uruguay Post Office, of a stamp to commemorate the centenary. The presentation, presided by Post Office executives, was held in the Aurora Ezcurra Room of the Basque centre at San José1168.
The Eastern Republic of Uruguay is considered as the country with the highest population of Basque origin in the world.
