Professor Ibon Sarasola awarded the Euskadi research prize for social sciences
Professor Ibon Sarasola Errazkin received the 2011 Euskadi Research award for Social Sciences and Humanities in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

With this prize, the jury recognised his contribution to Basque studies given that he has provided “an immense amount of material” in this field, all of it “of extraordinary quality. The 2011 Euskadi Research prize carries with it a purse of €40,000 and a commemorative figure.
Ibon Sarasola Errazkin (San Sebastián, 1946) has dedicated his life to researching Basque language history, literature and lexicography; he is currently considered the leading expert in this field.
