Andoni Luis Aduriz elected the world‘s best chef
The influential British magazine Restaurant announced in London the list of the 50 best restaurants in the world, considered the Oscars of haut cuisine. El Celler (Gerona, Can Roca) was widely tipped to dislodge René Redzepi‘s Noma from first place. However, the Catalan‘s restaurant was once again voted the second best in the world while the Dane continued in first pace for the third year running.
The third place on the list went to Mugaritz, Andoni Luis Aduriz’s restaurant, whose owner also won the “Chef's Choice Award.” Thus the Basque ascended to the Olympus of the top ten chefs in the world, confirming the large presence of Basque cuisine in the top 50.
