Itxako crushes Bera Bera in Cup Final
The Itxako women’s handball team from Estella, Navarra won its third Queen’s Cup in Altea by hammering Bera Bera 35-26 in the final. They were always ahead on the scoreboard, but Bera Bera put up a good fight and it was not until the last few minutes of the first half that they opened up a real gap. Alexandra Barbosa was their star player, scoring 11 goals.

This win brings Itxako’s tally to ten titles in the last four seasons, all with Ambros Martín as coach: three leagues, three cups, three super-cups and one EHF cup. Another title seems likely to be added to the collection by the end of this season, as the team has the league championship pretty much sewn up.
