Hiriko Electric Car Presented in Brussels

At a large-scale event to mark the launching of the first prototype of the Hiriko electric car in Brussels European Commission President Jose Manuel Durao Barroso has assured that the vehicle, promoted by a consortium of Basque companies, is an example of the type of social innovation project that European needs to develop if it is to emerge from the economic crisis and that it fits perfectly into the EU‘s three-fold objective of fostering “smart, sustainable, inclusive growth”.
