Mr. Urkullu expressed the opinion that “Basque national maintains its commitments to institutionalise and constitutionalise a single Euskadi. That is what independence for the Basque Country means in the 21st century. A single country from the Ebro to theAdour. Supported by the democratic will of the people. Nothing and nobody will change that commitment. This is what we have always said. And today we are saying it again at the culmination of this General Assembly. Let no-one feel misled. Let no-one forget the meaning of the steps that we are taking or the goal that we dream of in our waking hours. The goal to which we are committed. Euskadi is our goal. Our only goal. Achieving it will be a rebirth. If we are wide awake and alert, we will fulfil the dream. Euskadi, a nation inEurope”.

He stressed that “We need to remain alert to build a stronger nation in these new times. We are living in real time. Responding to real needs and real opportunities. This assembly has approved steps for these new times. We have identified the challenges. We have prepared our responses. That is the outcome of this General Assembly. Remain alert. Stay wide awake. We have approved steps through which we can continue to be born and continue to grow in our nationhood. These are the objectives of the Basque National Party. Body, heart, head and soul”.
