Eunate Agirre, world bodyboard champion
Bizkaia-born Eunate Agirre became world bodyboard champion after winning the last scoring event on the IBA Tour circuit, held on the Portuguese islands of the Azores.

Agirre, who was runner-up in 2009 and 2010, obtained the points that she needed to secure a first world title by eliminatingBrazil's Mayla Venturin in the semi-final, which was marked by a lack of waves.
In the last few seconds of the round the Sopelana-based rider managed to serve a wave that earned her 6.5 points. This was enough to take her to the final, where she beat another Brazilian -- Isabella Sousa -- to take away the jackpot: the world championship.
