The forum, whose delegates included politicians, entrepreneurs, economists and intellectuals, emphasised that Latin America is undergoing a transformation process and that, unlike Europe, it is enjoying significant growth in GDP, strong currency reserves and lack of problems when it comes to paying the sovereign debt.  

However, it should be stressed that the economic growth, which greatly depends on the prices that emerging countries pay for the raw materials, must be used to offset the region's structural deficits, by redirecting growth towards the productive and knowledge economy and to fight against inequality.
