Urkullu claims that the Basque Government is "outdated"

The president of the EBB of EAJ-BNP, Iñigo Urkullu, has stated that the lehendakari, Patxi López, "fails to govern" and, after claiming that the Basque Cabinet is "outdated", said he was worried by its "lack of independence" because it is "handcuffed" by the "Basagoiti-Zapatero pincer".

Urkullu made these statements in Bilbao, during a press conference assessing the two years of the Basque Government's legislature which, in his opinion, has been "wasted time".

The Nationalist leader assured that the PSE and PP limit their action to "opposition to EAJ-PNV" and have converted the Parliament "into a huge investigation committee against EAJ-BNP. "The pincer handcuffs López in three matters vital for the Basque Country, the political situation we are going through with the nationalist left, Basque self-government and the need to overcome the crisis", he added.

Urkullo indicated that the current Government is "outdated" and that his party would continue to offer "alternatives for the future". Along these lines he stated that the Party would maintain its offer concerning four "vital" agreements in the economic, institutional, self-government and political spheres.
