Urdaibai takes the San Miguel League and the Bandera de La Concha
Historic victory by Urdaibai took the Bandera de La Concha for Bermeo for the first time. The "Bou Bizkaia", that was second in the final honour board behind Orio, won the creme de la creme of the races when it came in 13 seconds ahead of Kaiku which faltered in the last stretch and ended third.

The team from Bizkaia also sealed its triumph in the San Miguel Trawler League with a brilliant win in the XXXVI Bandera de El Corte Inglés, held on the Ría de Nervión in front of Portugalete, ahead of Astillero y Orio, its main rival this season.
