In this meeting, the EDP assess the delicate economic situation of Europe and analyse the measures proposed within the framework of the European Union to provide solutions to the crisis. Likewise, it examine the current political situation of European countries having parties associated with the European Democratic Party.

Moreover, the Political Council assess the stages through which the four work-groups have to go before culmination of their function in the EDP Congress in Brussels in November, where the final document be approved. EAJ-PNV lead the Immigration-Integration Workgroup.

The EDP express its support for the Democratic Party of Poland candidate Andrzej Olechowski. The EAJ-PNV delegation also hold a meeting with the President of the Party in Silesia, Jerzy Gorzelik.
